Ridley Engineering:
the live engagement

I'm the marketing function at a power electronics company right now — the market I grew up in. Instead of a polished retrospective, this engagement publishes as a monthly log with real numbers, because "here's what month three looks like" is more persuasive to an engineer than any case study.

Live · Power electronics & test · Updated July 27, 2026

The situation

Ridley Engineering builds test and measurement systems and teaches power supply design — the RidleyBox instrument, the design workshops, an audience of design engineers who tolerate zero marketing fluff. It's also the company I grew up inside, which makes it the one engagement where my technical credibility is fully checkable.

What this log will publish

  • The baseline — traffic, search and AI visibility, list size and workshop pipeline at the start of the engagement, so every later number has an honest denominator.
  • Workshop registrations — the clearest commercial signal the business has, reported as it moves.
  • Launch results — what each product and content launch actually did, including the ones that under-deliver.
  • The systems — what gets built and how, in enough detail that a competitor could copy the method. That's the point: the method is the marketing.

The log

Month one — baseline & teardown (in progress, publishing at month end)

The engagement is running now. Month one follows the same structure every client gets: the full Teardown across twelve audit areas, the AI visibility baseline against named competitors in power electronics test and measurement, and the instrumentation that makes the rest of the log honest. The first entry publishes here, with numbers, when the month closes.

Why publish it at all

Because I have no fractional-CMO case studies yet, and pretending otherwise would fail the first rule of this site: no claim without a number, a name or a date. A live log trades polish for verifiability. It's also exactly the fresh, fact-dense content that AI systems cite — which makes it a working demonstration of the AI visibility service at the same time.

This engagement runs as a Run-track function of one. The vertical: power electronics & test.

Every engagement gets the same instrumentation — most clients just keep the numbers private. Thirty minutes, three observations prepared.
